I hadn't planned on announcing this to you all until we had more information, but the story has hit many news sites, and some of you have been kind enough to phone or email and ask if we've been affected.
In short: yes, we will be affected by this; we don't yet know how severely. Families registered with Imagine, and their friends and families, have been sending pleas to various government officials asking for their assistance. Our hope is that:
- the children in Imagine's care in Ethiopia will have food to eat. The funding for the children's homes has been cut off, and the staff have not been paid. There is little food left.
- those families whose referred children have already passed court in Ethiopia will be expedited through the Canadian Citizenship process
- those families whose files are in Ethiopia, Ghana, Zambia and Ecuador will be able to continue the process and receive a referral, perhaps through a second agency (This includes us.)
We will keep you posted as we receive more information. We appreciate your prayers.

9 Fellow Bletherers:
I was hoping you'd "break the silence" on this so I could write a quick post as well. Let us know what we can do. I can write letter, forward emails, start a prayer chain...
Thinking and praying for you...
With love
Got your link from Jenny on Twitter. So sorry to hear! My friends here in Sask got the same devastating news from the same agency - but their girls are in Ghana.
Prayers are definitely with you both.
Gwen, if I could make a suggestion - why not post the petition on the facebook page that has been started? just do a search under Imagine Adoption and it will pop up right away.
Awwww Gwen! I read about this in the news today and thought for sure that this couldn't be your agency. We are praying for you and are willing to sign anything we can or help in anyway that we can! Please let us know what we can do!
I don't have any words for you, but I have signed the petition. Keep leaning on him who is our strength.
XOXO
Oh my word! I cannot even believe it! My heart is breaking for you guys! Praying that you find His perfect peace and see the faithfulness of your Father in all these things!
Praying, praying, praying. . . .
This is dreadful news, simply dreadful. We feel for the families waiting, the children wanting, the lives on hold. We add our meager prayers to the others here and hope they are heard there ... dave and joe
